How to get there

Tour Ethno Light Kyrgyzstan travels along the northern and southern shores of Issyk-Kul. Start and finish are in Bishkek. You can reach the tour start by flight, train, or car.

Main route points: Kochkor (traditional felt crafts), southern shore of Issyk-Kul (Bokonbaevo area, yurts/guest houses), ethno-activities along the route (golden eagle demonstration, Taigan dog show, archery), and relaxation by the lake.

The tour follows an ethno-light format: gentle pace, basic comfort, and authentic atmosphere without extreme conditions or long transfers. Transfers are mostly on paved roads. Private transport is provided for the entire route for individual tours.

Daily Program

Day 1. Bishkek → Kochkor

  • Route: Bishkek – Kochkor
  • Distance: ~220 km
  • Travel time: 4–5 hours

Transfer to Naryn region. Introduction to traditional felt crafts and visits to local workshops. Accommodation and rest.

Overnight: Kochkor (guest house)

Day 2. Kochkor → Southern shore of Issyk-Kul

  • Route: Kochkor – Bokonbaevo
  • Distance: ~200 km
  • Travel time: 4–5 hours

Transfer to the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Accommodation in a guest house or yurts. Free time by the lake.

Overnight: southern shore of Issyk-Kul


Day 3. Southern shore of Issyk-Kul

  • Route: Surroundings of Bokonbaevo
  • Distance: ~40–60 km

Introduction to nomadic traditions: golden eagle, Taigan dog show, and archery around Bokonbaevo. Leisure and walks along the lake.

Overnight: southern shore of Issyk-Kul


Day 4. Southern shore of Issyk-Kul → Bishkek

  • Route: Southern shore of Issyk-Kul – Bishkek
  • Distance: ~315 km
  • Travel time: 5–6 hours

Return to Bishkek with stops along the way. End of tour.
